My name is Julia Van Patter (she/her), and I offer harp and piano music for weddings and special events in Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Cary, and the surrounding areas. I love working with couples to choose music that reflects their personality and brings them joy during important moments in their lives.
Every wedding setlist is fully customizable, from traditional favorites to unexpected choices you might not typically hear on harp or piano. I proudly welcome LGBTQ+ couples and celebrate all love stories.
My Story
I grew up as the youngest in a family of musicians and started playing the harp and piano at the age of 3. Some of my favorite memories are playing music with friends, singing in choir, and dressing in ridiculous costumes for recitals.
I have a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from University of North Carolina at Greensboro and have worked as a professional musician for nearly 15 years, playing over a hundred weddings and events.
While my full-time work is now in the nonprofit field, I’m thrilled that music is still a regular part of my life. It's a privilege to create the soundtrack for life's biggest celebrations and play a small part in making each one feel unforgettable.
When I’m not working, you can usually find me crocheting, playing cozy video games, hanging with my family, cuddling my cats, gardening, camping, or traveling to new places.
